2023: Tinubu's INEC filings are marred by controversy

The qualifications included in Ahmed Bola Tinubu's filing as the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate have been the subject of controversy.

Tinubu left the sections on the INEC Form CF001 he submitted on June 17, 2022 blank, meaning he did not include information about his primary and secondary schools. Additionally, he omitted to include copies of his certificates, which he claimed had been stolen in an affidavit.

In 1999 and 2003, Tinubu ran for and won the office of governor of Lagos State on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
